NEGOTIATED PURCHASES SUMMARIES BELOW
DTN COMMENT: Formula totals for last week are mixed, higher in Kansas and
Texas, but lower in Nebraska: KS 80,758(+6,750), NE 42,769(-10,691), TX
87,701(+12,761). Total trade volume are also mixed, higher in the South,
but lower in Nebraska: KS 94,318(+6,216), NE 70,835(-8,627), TX 97,481
(+15,053). New showlists appear to be mixed, higher in Kansas,
Nebraska/Colorado, but lower in Texas. Bids and asking prices have yet to
be established, significant trade volume will likely be delayed until the
second half of the week.
Beef cutouts are higher at midday (Choice 297.54 +0.40, Select 290.99
+2.27), with light box movement (30.88 lds of choice cuts, 7.70 lds of
select cuts, 7.88 lds of trim, and 5.01 lds of ground). Cattle futures are
lower at midday on both live and feeder issues.
